happy 4th 'merica!

Happy 4th yall!

I was trying to win a book, We Are America, by Walter Dean Myers and came up with why I love the 4th of July.  Yes, it's super cheesy, but remember...I was trying to win a book.  Sadly, I didn't win.
I am proud of my husband and the sacrifice he makes each and every day as an Airman. What I love about the 4th is that everyone shows how proud they are of my husband and all the past and present service men and women. We all wear red, white, and blue. We all talk about those that have fought for our freedom. We spend the day with great friends (even if via Skype for those deployed). We eat patriotic colored desserts. We light fireworks and celebrate our country. We all, for one day a year, show our love and passion for America as one nation. We are America!

The 4th was fun.  Filled with BBQ, fireworks, and new friends, Tyler and I had a great time.  It was hard seeing a friend have to skype her hubby who is currently deployed.  Makes you
immediately understand why we celebrate the military service men and women.

Showing her hubby her American flag dessert, which was delicious!!!

Couldn't find my never-been used before cake pops, so I had to settle for making a regular looking banana cream pie.  I ate most of it.

Yay, Air Force!

Best American lantern out there.

Watching our love lantern fly high.
Talking to this little cutie after the 4th.
